This course aims to introduce the issues of security in modern networks. The course covers the practice of network security: practical applications that have been implemented and are in use to provide network security. To design and construct a security policy and describe its implementation using a variety of security technologies, to conduct simple configuration tasks on a firewall, a VPN server and Client and a simple Intrusion Detection System, to conduct encryption of simple messages using public key and secret key techniques, to describe techniques used in dealing with Denial of Service Attacks, to describe the operation of public key infrastructure, to describe the security issues relating to wireless technologies, to formulate a Security Policy and describe its implementation.
